For many this isn’t breaking news, but more of a friendly reminder.  Starting today, through May 12th, Staples is running a promotion that waives the $6.95 fee for $200 Visa gift cards.  More details can be found at a post from DoctorofCredit and the offer from Staples.  The deal apparently is limited to “1 per customer” however doing multiple transactions or transactions at a store or buying at different times of the day are probably possible depending on your location and store personnel.

The deal is literally free points, and with a cards like the Chase Ink Plus or Ink Cash (business) that pay 5x at office supply stores, you’ll get 1,000 Ultimate Rewards at no cost.  Tack on a small liquidation/money order fee if you plan to use them in that way after you buy.
