Folding bikes have been used for over 100 years, even by the British Army as early as 1915.  It’s largely personal preference for the best folding/collapsable bike with Dahon, Brompton, and Tern being the big 3 companies.  What’s great about the bikes is that many can be compacted to airline checked luggage sizes and fit into storage areas on public transpiration.
